We are beginning to hear some wonderful things about the latest group of SuperCub kits offered and built as a supercub float plane. These are currently available in both kit form for both of the Amateur built class, Experimental and Experimental Light Sport Aircraft, as well as regular fabrication kits. These super cub floatplane kits are probably shipping by now. According to our latest information received, the quick build versions of these Supercub floatplane kits are supplied both as traditional float equipped kits for homebuilders for the Experimental as well as the amateur built Supercub category. Quite possibly at least some of these floatplane kits may also qualify in the Amateur built of Experimental Light Sport Aircraft category (E-LSA).
We have heard that the new SuperCub Kits include all of the options for the much more popular rapid build kits which will allow for significantly reduced construction intervals. If you are planning on building one of these quick build kits, you can expect to be up and flying in a much shorter period of time. But you might want to check with your local FSDO FAA office in order to make absolutely certain that the kit you are choosing qualifies for the important 51% rule. Of course any of these Super Cub quick build kits would be a slightly higher expense, but they should prove to be well worth the slight extra cost.
